Transfer points before cancelling the card - In case you are planning to cancel any credit card, always transfer your points beforehand or get a statement credit as once you have cancelled your credit card, the card issuer won't let you transfer the points or issue any statement credit which may lead to a huge loss of your hard earned points. (In case of AMEX, we had requested for statement credit after cancellation of credit card which which took request of as of 7 Dec 25)
