Some Shiv Ganga Express ticket booking tips -

Since it's a popular route and the train is a great one for saving a lot of day time, generally people don't cancel their tickets. In our case, we had booked two 1AC tickets and they were in WL 1 / 2 -- it remained like that for 18 days and we had to cancel the tickets to opt for Vande Bharat instead. Similarly, our return tickets had WL 3/4 -- it didn't change for 3 weeks as well, and we are thinking of cancelling it too.

If you don't have a buffer of atleast a month, booking a Waiting list in Sleeper, 2AC, 3AC may lead to a RAC if at all and then traveling in RAC for a journey which involves only sleeping can be very painful to think about.
